Commander Of The Army Visits Sfhq - East

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army paid a courtesy visit to the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-East) on 06 June 2024. Major General S.A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, Commander, Security Forces - East warmly welcomed the Army Chief after troops greeted him in a Drive Pass.

Addressing the troops of SFHQ - East, the Army Chief commemorated the war heroes who sacrificed their lives and acknowledged the dedication of the serving members. He also highlighted the importance of maintaining camaraderie among the troops while performing their duties in the Army. Towards the end, an exchange of mementoes took place as symbols of memory of the visit.

Then, he interacted with Officers and Other Ranks during the All Ranks tea at the Other Ranks' mess and planted a sapling on the premises. Adding memories to the day, the Commander of the Army was invited to pose for a few group photographs with the attendees.

Further, the Commander of the Army visited the SFHQ - East camp premises before joining the Officers at the Officers’ Mess for lunch. Prior to his departure, he penned down some complimentary remarks in the visitors’ book. Director General General Staff, General Officers Commanding of 22, 23 and 24 Infantry Divisions, Commander, Logistic Command - East, respective Commanders of the Brigades, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the occasion.
