In line with the 78th Independence day celebrations and under the Clean Sri Lanka programme, a cleaning programme was successfully conducted on 2 February 2026 from 0900 hours to 1300 hours at the Mawadivembu Divisional Hospital and its surrounding areas, located within the Eravur Pattu Divisional Secretariat Division. The programme was carried out with the participation of 1 × 10 of troops from 4 GW and 10 officers and staff members of the hospital.
This cleaning programme was carried out by the Sri Lanka Army at the request of the Medical Officer in charge and development commitee of the Mawadivembu Divisional Hospital. The initiative was highly appreciated by the hospital staff as well as the local community.
