Under the direction of the General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, and the close supervision of the 233 Infantry Brigade, the 7th Battalion the Gemunu Watch successfully conducted a community cleaning program on 4th September 2025 in collaboration with the Oddamavadi Pradeshiya Sabha.
The program was carried out in the Nawaladdi and Rideethenna areas, aiming to improve public hygiene and environmental cleanliness. The and event was graced by the Second-in-Command of 7th Battalion the Gemunu Watch and the Secretary of the Oddamavadi Pradeshiya Sabha, whose presence highlighted the significance of this joint initiative.
A total of 2 officers, 20 soldiers, and approximately 50 civilians participated in the program. Their combined efforts contributed to a cleaner and healthier environment for the local community.
This initiative also played a vital role in enhancing civil-military cooperation, building trust, and fostering strong relationships between the Sri Lanka Army and the local population.
