To coincide with the Christmas celebrations, 241 Brigade Akkaraipattu and the 11 Battalion of the Sri Lanka National Guard headed by Commander 241 Brigade Colonel Janaka Wimalarathne organized a Christmas Carols programme on 23 Dec 2019 under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding 24 Division Major General Chinthaka Gamage.
The proceedings of the event commenced with the message of Jesus Christ preached by Fr. Nigaston Pietersz and the evening was glamourized with an elegant display of dancing items to symbolize the holy birth of Jesus Christ.
Religious dignitaries, Government Agent - Ampara, Officers from the Armed Forces and Police, other government officials and a large number of civilians witnessed the rhythmic evening with a spiritual flavor.
