CELEBRATION OF THE 13th ANNIVERSARY OF SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (EAST)
Security Force Headquarters (East) conducted a series of activities on\r\naccount of celebrating its 13th anniversary in grand scale commencing from 25 to 28 Oct 2016. Religious observances at Somawathiya Raja Maha Viharaya and Mahasen Dewalaya, Minneriya were conducted with the view of bestowing merits on fallen War Heros who sacrificed their lives for motherland. Further, a ‘Belimal and ‘Kiribath Dansela’ were organized illustrating Buddhists’ unique practice of ‘Dhana’ which is considered as the ultimate act of merit. Maj Gen DDUK Hettiarachchi RSP USP ndu psc Comd SF (E) also made his presence at special pooja at Mahasen Devalaya at Minneriya. A Blood Donation Campaign was also organized at the SFHQ (E) premises on 27 Oct 2016 where Officers and ORs volunteered to donate 160 pints of blood to the Blood Bank of General Hospital Polonnaruwa with the intention of saving lives of innocent patients in need. Finally, the anniversary celebrations concluded with a musical extravaganza amidst of the performances of Beat Group and the Dancing Troupe of Army on 28 Oct 2016. \r\n
