According to the information received by 7 Military Intelligent Corps troops attach to 221 Infantry Brigade, Intelligent troops together with Nilaweli Police officials; a person was apprehended with 20g of Kerala Cannabis at Koneshpuri on 27 April 2023. Thereafter suspected person with illegal drugs were handed over to the Nilaweli Police station for further investigations.
The Commander, Security Forces (East) together with the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, and the Brigade Commander, 221 Infantry Brigade with the Commanding Officer, 7 Military Intelligence Corps closely monitored the raid and instructed accordingly. With the apprehended of these illegal activities in respective areas, illegal activities will be stopped in the area and the general public’s confidence in the Military forces will be increased.
