A BUDDHA PUJA WAS ORGANIZED AT THE SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS-EAST

Sangamitta Thera and her entourage visited the southern branch of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Sri Lanka with the approval of Mahinda Maha Arahant. This visit holds historical significance due to many important events, such as the inauguration of the Sri Lanka Bhikshuni Order.

To commemorate Uduwap Poya Day, an occasion of great importance for Buddhists, a Buddha Puja was organized at the Security Force Headquarters-East. The ceremony was attended by the Guest of Commander security Forces (East), senior and junior officers, other ranks, and civil servants.

Venerable Nuwandeniye Sagnalankara Thero was invited to the camp premises for this special event. The purpose of the Puja was to pay tribute to war heroes who had made the ultimate sacrifice, to wish a speedy recovery to those injured in the war, and to seek blessings for all personnel serving at the Security Force Headquarters-East and their family members.
