BIDS FAREWELL TO OUTGOING COMMANDER, SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS - EAST

The troops of Security Forces Headquarters - East arranged a formal ceremony to bid farewell to the outgoing Commander of Security Forces - East, Major General S A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, on 03 December 2024 at Security Forces Headquarters East.

The farewell proceedings included office formalities, a group photograph, and the opening of a lecture hall. This was followed by an address to the troops and an all-rank tea party.

The senior officer, who has completed 35 years of service, hails from the distinguished Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers of the Sri Lanka Army. During challenging times, he made tremendous commitments to safeguard the integrity of the motherland and served selflessly for the nation.

During his tenure as Commander, of Security Forces (East), he initiated numerous operational and non-operational ventures to ensure security and social welfare within the Eastern region. Under his conceptual guidance, the troops under his command implemented many community-oriented welfare projects, including.

Construction of houses for the homeless, Distribution of scholarships and stationery packs for the younger generation, Donation of artificial limbs for persons with disabilities, Blood donation programs Provision of sports equipment to benefit local sports clubs, Conducting educational programs to uplift educational standards, Providing essential ration packs to assist deserving communities during critical times.

Major General S A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc an officer and a gentleman, fostered a comfortable working environment for all troops under his command. He remained humble and attentive to the needs of his team.
