BIDS FAREWELL TO ITS OUTGOING GOC 22 DIVISION

The outgoing General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, Major General Sanath Aluwihare was saluted in accordance with military traditions during a formal farewell, held at the 22 Infantry Division Headquarters premises on Tuesday (04).

On arrival General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, a Guard turnout at the entrances, Guard of honors parade in the parade square at 22 Infantry Division Headquarters, honored the outgoing General Officer Commanding, 22 Div. He was also invited to pose for a group photo at the 22 Infantry Division Headquarter compound as a symbol of memory.

Furthermore, an all rank tea marked the occasion in accordance with military traditions to mark the relinquishment of his appointment, the outgoing General Officer Commanding addressing the troops of the 22 Infantry Division thanked all ranks for their generous assistance and support extended to him during his tenure. A memento was also awarded to him as a souvenir towards the end of the occasion.

All Infantry Brigade Commanders, Colonel General Staff, Colonel Admin and Quartering, Senior Staff Officers, Commanding Officers, Officers and Troops were present during the occasion.
