Beach Cleaning Program by 241 Infantry Brigade

Under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General P. R. Pathiravithana, USAWC, psc, and the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding the 23 Infantry Division, the 241 Infantry Brigade conducted a beach cleaning program on 10 May 2025. As part of this initiative, nine concrete waste containers were installed for the systematic disposal of the large amount of garbage collected daily at the Thambatta Beach in Akkaraipattu. This effort was carried out in collaboration with the Alayadiwembu Divisional Secretariat and the Alayadiwembu Pradeshiya Sabha.

Furthermore, 20 troops, including the Brigade Commander of the 241 Infantry Brigade, participated in this event, along with officials from the Alayadiwembu Divisional Secretariat, the Secretary of the Alayadiwembu Pradeshiya Sabha, staff from both institutions, and members of various community organizations.
