For the first time in its history, the 6 Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (Rft) is achieving a significant milestone. Thanks to the visionary leadership of Major General P A M Peiris RSP USP psc, the General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division, and the meticulous supervision of Brigadier Y H P Rangajeewa USP, the Commander 223 Infantry Brigade, two squadrons are being collocated and deployed. This achievement follows the refurbishment of the previously abandoned Battalion Training School in Thawulwewa, a project that reflects careful conceptualization and planning.
A and B Squadrons of the 6th Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (Rft), previously situated at Indikatuwewa and Mailawewa respectively, are now collocated. The grand opening ceremony took place at the Thawulwewa Army Camp premises on 3, May 2024. It was an honor to have the General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division grace the occasion, upon the invitation extended by the Commanding Officer of the 6 Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (Rft).
