As per the concept of the Commander of Security Forces (East), the 9th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery successfully conducted a community welfare programme on 31 January 2026 at Monarathenna Primary School.
The programme was funded through generous monetary contributions made by Colonel Suresh Pakshaweera (Rtd), his batchmates and the Lions Club 306 D4, Biyagama. Accordingly, school stationery and books were distributed among 27 students, while dry ration packs were also distributed to their parents.
Colonel M.L.L.R. Molligoda USP, Brigade Commander, 233 Infantry Brigade, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The event was also attended by Lieutenant Colonel S.M.C. Kumara SLNG, Civil Affairs Officer – 233 Infantry Brigade; Major D.L.C.A.K. Lekamge IG SLA, Officiating Commanding Officer – 9th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery, along with other Senior Officers and Other Ranks of the 9th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery.
