9TH BATTALION OF VIJAYABAHU INFANTRY REGIMENT CONSTRUCTS AND HANDS OVER NEW HOUSE TO LOW-INCOME FAMILY

Under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, and the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding the 22 Infantry Division, the 9th Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, deployed under the 222 Infantry Brigade, successfully completed the construction of a new house and handed over the keys and essential items to Mrs. A. M. K. Indarani and her family.

This initiative was carried out as part of a civil-military coordination program conducted in the Eastern Theatre and was mainly coordinated by the Commanding Officer of the 9th Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.

The project was made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Department of Samurdhi Development and regional philanthropists, including Mr. Chamil Jayan.

The newly constructed house was officially handed over on 04 July 2025 in the Sirimangalapura area.

The Commander Security Forces (East) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Also present were the General Officer Commanding the 22 Infantry Division, Deputy GOC of the 22 Infantry Division, Commander of the 222 Infantry Brigade, senior and junior officers, other ranks, sponsors, and local civilians.
