The 9th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery troops under the supervision of 233 Infantry Brigade erected a house for a deserving family at Kolakanawadiya and handed over it to the beneficiaries in the presence of Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, the Commander Security Forces – East on Monday (10 April) during a simple ceremony.
The 9th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery provided work force for the construction work under the close supervision of Brigadier Wasantha Hewage, the Commander – 233 Infantry Brigade and Lieutenant Colonel Indika Chandrakumara, the Commanding Officer of 9th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery.
This was made possible with the generosity extended by Mr.Wishva Udara Alaharuwan (the donor) and Mr. Prasad Lokubalasooriya (the coordinator).
Upon completion of the construction, Mr. W Ravindra and his family along with two children, residing at Kolakanawadiya, Welikanda received the key from Commander Security Forces – East. Towards the end of the house warming formalities, the chief guest gifted few home appliances, a stock of dry ration packets and school accessories to the beneficiaries.
The General Officer Commander 23 Infantry Division, senior officers, Mr. Prasad Lokubalasooriya(the coordinator of the sponsorship) and relatives of the beneficiaries were also present at the event.
