The Battalion Training Course of the 4th Gamunu Watch started with 9 Officers and 286 Other Ranks at the Battalion Training School in Punani on 18 September 2023. The course was concluded on 06 November 2023 with a highly successful note.
Major General Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, the Commander, Security Forces-East, delivered the closing remarks and gave away the prizes for top performers. Brigadier General Staff of the Security Force Headquarters (East), Commander, 232 Infantry Brigade, Staff Officers of 23 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks attended the closing ceremony.
Sergeant M.R Kalum Chandana was awarded the trophy for the Best Student, Corporal P.M Weerakkody was selected as the Best Shooter, and Lance Corporal D.M.M Dissanayake as the Best in Physical Fitness by the Security Forces Commander (East). The trophy for the best company was awarded to ‘C’ Company and the ‘B’ Company was awarded the trophy for the best team work.
