‘Suwanari Medical Clinic’, organized jointly by the troops of 3(V) SLAWC, Ministry of Women and Child Affairs and Sri Lanka Women's Bureau to coincide with the International Women's Day, provided medical consultations to more than 50 Woman soldiers and civil servants on 27 February. The attendees were examined, diagnosed and given free medical treatments during the medical clinic.
With an initiative of Major Chamari Wijethilake CO 3(V) SLAWC the clinic was conducted by Medical Officer of Health (MOH) Dehiaththakandiya, with the support of medical staff, who volunteered to offer assistance to the request made by the Army. The Officers and ORS of 3 (V) Women's Corps coordinated the event.
Assistant Director Ministry of Women and Child Affairs Mrs. Seetha Karunarathne, Assistant Director Sri Lanka Women's Bureau Mrs. Dulakshi Fernando and Divisional Secretary Dehiaththakandiya Mrs. MW Shiromani attended the event.
