243 INFANTRY BRIGADE ORGANIZED THE CHILDREN'S DAY PROGRAMME AT BATTICALOA

To mark "World Children's Day for the year 2023" 243 Infantry Brigade organized the childrens' day programme at the Batticaloa light house premises on Sunday (01 Oct). On the conceptual guidance of Major General MKUP Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, the Commander, Security Forces - East. The event was organized under the guidance of Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division. The event was successfully conduct by the Brigadier AMC Kumarasinghe, the Commander 243 Infantry Brigade with the support by 11 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops.

In order to achieve the reconciliations in the true sense word, this event organized with patronage of 150 children belongs to all their religions Buddhist, Hindu, and Islam. During this event, games entertainments and held a musical programme performed by 11(V) SLSR troops. In this event they were provided with snack and lunch. At the end, all kids were presented a gift pack. Mr Hemakumara Gunasekara and Mrs Thilini Withanage sponsors for this event donated Rs 150, 000 for the success of this event.

Major General MKUP Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG the Commander SF HQ( East), attended as the chief guest. Major General Wipula Chandrasiri General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division Brigadier Chandima Kumarasinghe the Commander 243 Infantry Brigade and Other invitees were also participated to the event. Troops belong to 11 (V) SLSR Contributed for the success of the event.
