241 INFANTRY BRIGADE PREVENT OVER SPILL OF GAL OYA WATER RESERVOIR

On 11 January 2024, Gal Oya water reservoir was over spilled near to Oluwil area with the heavy rain and due to that the movement along the Oluwil – Deeghavapiya road was restricted. There by with the quick guidance and participation of Brigadier LSDN Pathirathne RSP USP, the Commander, 241 Infantry Brigade, and troops of 241 Infantry Brigade 01 Officer with 10 Other Ranks were prevent further over spill of Gal Oya by making a temporary bund along irrigation bund using 610 sandbags with the assistance about 60 farm society people. Required technical assistance was provided by the Irrigation Engineer of Oluvil Veerayadi Irrigation Office.
