Colonel L S D N Pathirathna RSP USP assumed duties as the 11 Commander of the 241 Infantry Brigade at Komari, amid religious blessings at the Headquarters on Thursday (29).
The newly-appointed Commander Colonel Dhanika Pathirathna was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 18 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) and honoured in a Guard Turnout, presented by the troops of the 18 VIR. Afterwards, he symbolized the assumption of duties placing his signature for an official document, amidst chanting of 'Seth Pirith' by members of the Maha Sangha in the presence of several senior officers. Later on, he was invited to plant a sapling as a gesture of memory.
In line with formalities the newly appointed Commander addressed all the troops of 241 Infantry Brigade and visited the camp premises.
Commanding Officers of under command Battalions and Staff Officers of the 241 Infantry Brigade were present the occasion.
