The 24 Infantry Division, on 4 October 2023 organized a school accessories distribution programme at Ampara Wadinagala Vidyalaya with the intention of giving underway helping hands to uplift the education standard of the students in remote areas. This programme was organized according to the guidance and directions of the General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division, Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, with the assistance of the 241 Infantry Brigade and the 8 Sri Lanka National Guard.
Financial contribution was provided by Mr.Wijitha Kulathilaka and Mrs.Nishadi Kulathilaka to make the event a success. During the programme, donated a consignment of much needed school equipment to the school and distributed school accessories among 185 students. Moreover, after the programme, treated from a delicious lunch for the students and teachers of the school.
General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division, Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, graced the occasion as chief guest. Brigade Commander, 241 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier LSDN Pathirathna RSP USP, Staff Officers of 24 Infantry Division, Commanding Officer, 8 SLNG, Major EDSK Deniyaya, Officers, troops of 8 SLNG, philanthropists, and residents of the area were took part of the occasion.
