With the directions of the General Officer Commanding 24 Division, Dengue Eradication Campaign was conducted by the troops to minimize the increased risk of dengue and to eradicate the dengue epidemic from Ampara, Malwaththa area.
Troops of 24 Division along with a group of 250 civilians representing Muslim and Tamil communities belong to Majeedpuram and Malwaththa areas participated in the campaign on Saturday 28th where they cleared the mosquito breeding grounds in the wayside of the Malwatta - Kalmunai road (from Malwaththa junction to Majeedpuram junction about 3.5 km).
