As per the instructions given by the General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division, Brigadier SB Amunugama RWP RSP ndu an awareness programme on “Viru Abimana Housing Loan Scheme” was conducted on 09 March 2022 for the Officers & Other Rankers under the 24 Infantry Division.
The programme was conducted by the officials of Peoples’ Bank in Ampara in parallel to the Army Wednesday Training Programme. The aim of this programme was to educate the soldiers on "Viru Abiman Housing Loan Scheme" which was newly introduced concept by the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc Mphil to ensure each soldier to have own house before reaching the age of retirement.
