24 DIVISION COMMANDER VISITS TO THE NEWLY ADDED BRIGADE

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 24 Infantry Division Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc made his first visit to the 243 Infantry Brigade and 11(V) Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on Wednesday, 12 July 2023 after redesigning the 231 Infantry Brigade as the 243 Infantry Brigade Kallady, Batticaloa.

Upon arrival at the 243 Infantry Brigade the GOC of the 24 Infantry Division was warmly welcomed by the Brigade Commander, Brigadier WMNKD Bandara RWP RSP USP psc. He was greeted with a drive past at the entrance and invited to plant a sapling. Moreover, the GOC was also briefed on the role, tasks, and area of responsibility of the Brigade by the Brigade Commander.

After visiting the Headquarters of 243 Infantry Brigade, the GOC proceed to visit the company locations of 11(V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment. The final event on his agenda was a visit to the Headquarters of the 11(V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, where he interacted with troops and wrote complimentary remarks in the Visitors’ Book.

Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of 24 Infantry Division, 243 Infantry Brigade and 11(V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment took part in those events.
