Troops of the 24 Infantry Division organized a Dry Ration and School Stationeries donation programme at Sri Sambodhi Temple at Piyasaragama on 16 June 2022.
The donation programme was organized under the guidelines and supervisions of the General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division together with the Commander 241 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of 16 SLNG.
A total of 80 Dry ration packets were distributed among 80 low income families with Rs 600.00 cash. One dry ration pack is worth of Rs. 5,500.00 and further, 87 School children received School Stationary items worth of Rs. 181,000.00. Furthermore, Rs. 50,000.00 was donated to the Sri Sambodhi Temple for the Temple developments. The donation programme was coordinated by Miss Shashikala Gunarathne and the financial assistants for the donations was given by Miss Kanishka Peellawaththa and her friends. Further they offered a lunch for all the representatives for the event.
Major General S B Amunugama RWP RSP ndu General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division has graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Commander of 241 Infantry Brigade Brigadier A M C Abeykoon RWP RSP USP together with the Commanding Officer of 16 SLNG, Officers and Other Ranks of 16 SLNG also attended to the programme.
