231 INFANTRY BRIGADE TROOPS WITH SPONSORSHIP DONATE NEEDS OF PREGNANT WOMEN, NEEDY FAMILIES AND MIDWIVES

With the sponsorship provided by the Mrs Udyani Munasinghe and family, 7 Light Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, 12 Gemunu Watch And 3 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops of the 231 Infantry Brigade of 23 Infantry Division under the Security Forces HQ – East took steps to distribute essential and infant needs among 50 pregnant women, 02 law-income families and 05 midwives in general area Medirigiriya.

The event held at the ‘Pulathisi Tharuka Mandapaya’ theatre premises in Higurakgoda on 19 May 2024. The Major General W P Kariyawasam General Officer Commanding of 23 Infantry Division graced the event. The community project, which benefited for pregnant women who assist in the selection of most needed families and special lunch, was offered.

The donation programme was launched under the supervision of Brigadier AADP Kulathilake USP ndc psc commander of 231 Infantry brigade. Staff Officers of the 231 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officers of 7 Light Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, 12 Gemunu Watch and 3 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and other ranks joined the community project.
