Major General C D Ranasinghe RWP RSP assumed office as the 23 General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 23 Infantry Division on 29 October 2020 during a simple ceremony.
On his arrival, 23 Infantry Division troops presented a Guard Turnout at the main entrance and a subsequent parade in accordance with military formalities.
The newly-appointed GOC planted a sapling in the Division Headquarter premises and afterwards he symbolically signed an official document to signify the acceptance of the new appointment amid religious observances.
Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of the Division and Commanding Officers were present at the event.
