Colonel Y H P Rangajeewa USP of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps assumed duties as the 8 Brigade Commander of the 223 Infantry Brigade, Kattaparichchan at the auspicious time on 30 November 2022 during a simple ceremony.
The new Brigade Commander on arrival was greeted to a Guard Turnout salute before he was warmly received and welcomed by the Commanding Officer, 6 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC).
Subsequently, he left his signature for an official document in his office and symbolized the acceptance of duties.He was also invited to leave memories by planting a Mango sapling in the camp premises.
A group photo at the end of the occasion added memories. All Officers of the Brigade together with Lieutenant Colonel Suranga Pilimathalawa, CO 6 SLAC and Other Ranks of the Brigade were present.
