A significant community welfare initiative took place on 17 September 2025 at T/Sangamaya Primary School, Trincomalee, with the donation of books and essential school items to the students.
The programme was coordinated under the guidance of Brigadier E W R S B Ehelepola USP USACGSC, Commander 221 Infantry Brigade, and organized by the 2(V) Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment The donation was made possible through the generosity of Mr. Inpanathan Sasikumar and family from Canada, together with Mr. Chamila Samarajeewa from Sri Lanka. Their contribution, coordinated by the Commander 221 Infantry Brigade, brought much-needed educational support to the children, thereby strengthening opportunities for learning and growth.
This initiative underscores the importance of community collaboration, the crucial role of both local and international donors, and the coordination by the Sri Lanka Army in enhancing the educational standards of underprivileged students in the Trincomalee region.
