The 22 Infantry Division celebrated the Vesak Festival 2024 symbolizing religious harmony under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding Major General P A M Peiris RSP USP psc on Vesak Poya day (23 May 2024). Conceding with the Vesak festival, the troops of 22 Infantry Division organized a Bath Dansals at 22 Infantry Division for 10000 devotees, Seruwawila raja Mahabharata for 5500 devotees, and Thambalagamuwa for 8000 devotees. Financial benefactors for the entire program were coordinated by the General Officer Commanding the 22 Infantry Division.
The events were conducted under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding the 22 Infantry Division supervised by all Brigade Commanders and organized by all staff of HQ 22 Infantry Division, 15 SLLI, and 9 VIR battalions. Mr. Chaminda Hettiarachchi GA Trincomalee participated as the Chief Guest for the Dansala organized at HQ 22 Infantry Division Trincomalee and Major General P A M Peiris RSP USP psc General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division. Brig R K A R P Rathnayake RSP USP psc, Brig H K S Thilakaratne, and Brig Y H P Rangajeewa USP the Brigade Commanders of 221, 222, 223 Infantry Brigades respectively, All the Commanding Officers, All Officers and All Other Rankers of 22 Infantry Division & under command battalions were participated in this charity.
