Under the guidance of Commander Security Forces (East), Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, with the direction of General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division, Major General Saliya Amunugama, and with the fullest effort and supervision of Commander 222 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Nalaka Malsinghe and closely monitoring of the Commanding Officer 5 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Chandana Wanniarachchi, under command troops of the 5 Sri Lanka Artillery organized school stationery and other essential equipment donation programme for 100 school children at Sooriyapura Mahaweligama School on Tuesday (February 14).
A total worth of Rs 2 million school stationery items including special snack packs was distributed among the school children on this very special day at the school Sooriyapura Mahaweligama main hall. This was made possible through the kind patronage, offered by the Blissful Minds Association.
Major General Saliya Amunugama, the General Officer Commanding the 22 Infantry Division attended the distribution ceremony as the Chief Guest along with Brigadier Nalaka Malsinghe, Brigade Commander 222 Infantry Brigade, and donors of Blissful Minds Association, Principal with the teaching staff of Mahaveligama School and parents of children attended to the programme.
