Commemorating the 74th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army , 9 Battalion The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment carried out this program as a social mission under the 22 Infantry Division, on the exhortation of the commander, 22 Infantry Division Major General GMN Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, under the guidance and supervision of the commander 222 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier NNS Dias RSP
Seruwila “Sahana Sewana” Rehabilitation & Vocational Training Center for Person with Disabilities a program to provide essentials to the residents with special needs was organized by the Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 06.10.2023 at 1100 hrs in the “Sahana Sewana” premises. The financial contribution for this program has provided by Mr. Prasad Lokubalasooriya, the chief organizer of “Suva Daru 2023” program along with Old boys Association of Royal College Colombo and “Mithuru Kala” Union of Sri Jayawardhanepura University
This program started after an Alms giving to the honorable Maha Sangarathne, in which the heroic war heroes who fortified their lives to end the brutal terrorism that went on for over 30 years were recalled and thanked them. After that Outfits were distributed to three members of the “Sahan Sewana” team and 32 residents, dry rations and other necessities were donated and lunch was also served to all of them
More over on this occasion, the residents gave a performance including dance and singing for the guests. For this Occasion, The Deputy General Officer Commanding of the 22 Infantry Division, Brigadier KKS Parakum RWP RSP, The Commander of the 222 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier NNS Dias RSP, Mr Prasad Lokubalasooriya the Chief Organizer of “Suva Daru 2023” program also participated. Further, Senior Officers/Officers from 222 Infantry Brigade and 9 Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment other ranks and civil servants participated
