22 Division and Catholic community of Trincomalee jointly organized a Christmas Carol Programme at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Trincomalee on (25) Tuesday with the participation of all ethnicities living in the Trincomalee area. The programme was organized under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 22 Division Major General Nevil Weerasingha and under the supervision of Commander 221 Brigade, Brigadier Upali Gunasekara. Rt Rev Dr. Noel Emmanuel, Bishop of Trincomalee attended this glamorous event as the Chief Guest.

School students in the region presented the carols in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages as a symbol of peace and harmony and the event was witnessed by a large crowd. The evening glittered with a colorful display of fireworks. All the Brigades under command to 22 Division contributed the event by providing refreshments for the participants.

Meanwhile, Christmas zone comprised with Christmas tree, Christmas cribs and other arrangements organized in the Trincomalee town were ceremonially opened by Rt Rev Dr. Noel Emmanuel, Bishop of Trincomalee. A specially dressed Santa Claus distributed Christmas gifts among Children. Further, to make the Christmas zone more colorful, Trincomalee Police Division organized Christmas Mobile Carols.

Several Catholic Priests, Senior Army Officers, Police Officers, Other Ranks, civilians and children attended the event.
