22 Infantry Division hosted its 22 Infantry Division General Officer Commanding (GOC) Challenge Trophy Softball Cricket Tournament from 27 February 2024 to 03March 2024 featuring the participation of 10 teams representing under command Brigades and Battalions.
Following the 22 preliminary matches, the 22 Infantry Division team and 2 (V) Gajaba Regiment teams advanced to the finals, and 2 (V) Gajaba Regiment secured the championship amidst an exciting game held at the Orr’s Hill Sports Ground on 03 March 2024.
The tournament was organized under the guidance of Major General P.A.M. Peiris RSP USP psc, GOC of 22 Infantry Division, who also graced the finals as the chief guest and joined the medals awarding ceremony. A large crowd of spectators including Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks witnessed the thrilling final match. The event concluded with a colorful musical night.
