11 (V) SLSR TROOPS CONSTRUCTED A NEW HOUSE FOR A NEEDY FAMILY

Commander Security Force - East, Major General Lal Chandrasiri vested a newly-constructed house for a needy family of Mangalagama, Keviliyamadu in Batticaloa district during his maiden field visit to the 11 (V) Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on Sunday 26 December 2021.

After the living condition of the family of Mrs A M Nandani living in Keviliyamadu was noticed by the Army troops serving in respective area, SFHQ-East pioneered to launch the construction of this house by the troops of 11 (V) Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under the patronage of veteran psychology lecture Professor Chandana Gunawardana.

Subsequent to the religious observances, key of the house was handed over to beneficiary during a brief ceremony by the Commander Security Force – East who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

General Officer Commanding of 23 Infantry Division Major General Nalin Koswaththa, Brigadier General Staff of SFHQ-(E),Commander 231 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer of 11 (V) Battalion of Sri Lanka Singha Regiment and family members of beneficiary along with civilians in the village were present at the ceremony.
