    The much-awaited combined Ranaviru Upahaara (War Hero Tribute) Ceremony and the Ranaviru ommemoration Ceremony, organized every year by the Ladies Club of Mechanized Infantry Regiment was held on a grand scale at the Defence Service College auditorium on Saturday (4) under the aegis of Lieutenant General rishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army and Mrs Nayana De Silva, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit as the Chief Guest at the invitation of Mrs Dhammika Hathurusinghe, Chairperson, MIR Ladies Club.

  • COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT INSPECTED THE ONGOING CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS AT RHQ

    Colonel of the Regiment, Maj Gen M Hathurusinghe RSP ndc IG inspected the ongoing construction projects of the Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre on 09th May 2015. The Mechanized Infantry Regiment has commenced several construction projects to upgrade the existing facilities of officers and soldiers within the organization.

  • MARIANS UNPLUGGED IN COLOMBO HELD WITH PACKED MUSIC LOVERS

    Amarasiri Peiris and Anjelin Gunathilaka Unplugged with Marians’, the mega musical extravaganza, organized by the Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) Seva Vanitha Unit for the sake of raising funds for the welfare work was held at the Musaeus College auditorium Thursday (30) evening before a large gathering of musical enthusiasts.

    Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army graced the entertainment programme as the Chief guest.\r\n\r\nThe show with a difference blended with the rising electronic music attractions, the 'Marians Unplugged' featured one of Sri Lanka's most challenging music of the Marians group, led by popular Nalin Perera.

  • MECHANIZED INFANTRY RANAVIRU UDANAYA - 2015

    Ranaviru Udanaya - 2015 organized by the Mechanized Infantry Regiment was held from 10 to 14 June 2015 at the Gam Udawa Ground, Dambulla. This mega event is organized annually by the Regiment to obtain funds for various welfare projects of fallen and disabled war heroes and their families as well as to uplift the standard of the Regiment and Battalions in various constructions.

    This carnival was consisting with weapon exhibition, various entertainment sports, games, and stalls. Musical shows of most popular Music groups, dancing team and the singers decorated all the nights at the end of every day. The event was organized peacefully and successfully with high standard of security and discipline.
