Colonel LS Balachandra RSP, Centre Commandant of the Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre visited the 1st , 4th & 5 th Bns of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment on 31 August 2015. During the bn visits Centre Commandant addressed troops of each bns and he was invited to plant a tree sapling to signify the symbolic memory of his visit to each places.

The Mechanized Infantry Ladies Club members, headed by the President Mrs Dhammika Hathurusinghe, visited to Anuradhapura on 27th June 2015 to interact with the inmates at "Abimansala 1" wellness resort for dependent War Heroes who are receiving rehabilitation and medical attention.
An inmate received the visiting the President Mrs Dhammika Hathurusinghe, offering a sheaf of betel and welcomed them to the "Abimansala 1". Mrs Dhammika Hathurusinghe at first inquired into disable War Heroes and presented value gifts pack them and donated a Heavy Duty Steam Iron to the "Abimansala 1". The Centre Commandant, Commanding Officers and officers of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment were associated with this event.

The newly-appointed Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala, paid his first formal visit to the Army Headquarters to call on Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army on 30th June 2015.\r\n\r\nA formal Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour, presented by troops of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) at the Ministry of Defence grounds greeted the guest who inspected the parade and received the honours. He was received by Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Adjutant General on arrival at the ground.

He was accorded with a Guard Turnout presented by the ceremonial guard of the 2 MIR and warmly welcome by the CO - 2 MIR. The Centre Commandant addressed troops of 2 MIR and he was invited to plant a tree sapling to signify the symbolic memory of his visit to the place.

He addressed troops of 3 MIR, then; He declared open the welfare shopping complex and invited to plant a tree sapling to signify the symbolic memory of his visit.

Officers' Training Day was held at the Mechanized Infantry Regimental Headquarters on 19 August 2015 with the participation of more than 79 officers as per the directives of Colonel of the Regiment Maj Gen M Hathurusinghe RSP ndc IG. The Training Day commenced with Physical Training and Drill sessions. After that, Colonel of the Regiment addressed all officers during his opening remarks stating the importance of officers\' training day.

The Mechanized Infantry Regiment bid farewell to its outgoing Colonel of the Regiment Major General Maj Gen M Hathurusinghe RSP ndc IG on 26th & 27th August 2015. Farewell Ceremony was held in its customary way and accorded the Guard Turnout and Regimental Parade in honour of all ranks of Mechanized Infantry Regimnet at Regimental Headquarters, Dambuluhalmillawewa.

Newly appointed Colonel of the Regiment Major General AM Perera RWP RSP psc was warmly welcome by the Mechanized infantry Regiment on 27th Sep 2015 in a grandiose ceremony held at Regimental Headquarters, Dambuluhalmillawewa. He reviewed the Regimental Parade presented by the troops of Mechanized Infantry Regiment for their newly arrived Colonel of the Regiment proceeded by the Guard Turn-out in conformity with military traditions and custom.
