The 20th Army Para Games terminated on 24 November 2017 whist SLLI topped the medal table becoming champions wining incredible 72 Gold, 58 Silver, and 42 Bronze medals. Delightful closing ceremony was held at the Diyagama Stadium where Secretary of Defence Mr. Kapila Waidyaratne graced the occasion as the chief guest. Commander of the Army - Lieutenant General NUMMW Senanayake RWP RSP USP psc and Chief of Staff of the Army - Major General KADA Karunasekara RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc also graced the occasion.SLLI athlete S/193749 Pte Amila Prashan W has set a new record in event T 42 100 m, and he was adjudged as the best athlete. Col of the Regt and All Ranks wish all the best to the Sports Team of HQ Bn, SLLI who devoted themselves for this remarkable victory.

One more Sri Lanka Army contingent for UN Peace Keeping Missions is ready to take up peace keeping duties in the Republic of Mali. The dignified military parade was held at the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regimental parade ground on 30 November 2017 where Major General KADA Karunasekara RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
