The Minipura Nada - 2017 Carnival and Trade Fair of the Gemunu Watch, Army show and the educational exhibition was declared open on 08 December 2017 by General Officer Commanding,54 Division, Major General GJAW Galagamage amidst religious observances at the Play ground of the Regimental Headquarter, the Gemunu Watch , Kuruwita with large gathering. The Minipura Gemunu Nada 2017, Carnival and Trade Fair was organized by the Gemunu Watch with guidance and supervision of the Colonel of the Regiment, Gemunu Watch, Major General WBDP Fernando RWP RSP USP psc.

The Inter Battalions Novices Athletic Championship - 2018 of the Gemunu Watch, was declared open on first day by General Officer Commanding 54 Division, Major General GJAW Galagamage at 0830hrs on Thursday ( 18 ) at the Mahinda Rajapaksha Stadium, Diyagama with the participation of more than 500 athletes representing all Battalions. The Inter Battalions Novices Championship 2018 was organized by the Gemunu Watch with guidance and supervision of the Colonel of the Regiment, Major General WBDP Fernando RWP RSP USP psc. The event to be held today and tomorrow (18 and 19 January 2018 )

The Regimental Centre the Gemunu Watch was organized their Christmas celebration in St Wind Paul Childrens Home which is functioning under the supervision of St Peters and Paul Church with the assistance of sisters of charity at 1500 hrs to 1730 hrs on 23 Dec 2017. The festivity was comprised with making of Christmas tree, singing the Christmas Carols at the venue. On that particular time, the sun shines and everything seems so alive. All that surroundings are brought to life even more by the festivity of Christmas.

Officers Training Day of the Gemunu Watch is intended to improve the Officers knowledge on Military and Non Military subjects which presumed as inevitable to enhance the professionalism of the officers. For this endeavor the assistance of the academic and intellectuals is significant. The second session of Training Day of the year was held on 23 Dec 2017 at the Regimental Headquarters premises with the participation of approximately 80 senior and middle grade officers.

Military salutes, including a Guard of Honour and a Guard Turnout formally greeted by troops of the Gemunu Watch to the General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan Army who is in Sri Lanka on a goodwill tour at the invitation of his Sri Lankan counterpart when he visited the Army Headquarters Tuesday (16) morning to meet his Sri Lankan counterpart.
