THE JOYS OF CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS IN ST WIND PAUL CHILDREN S HOME - RATHNAPURA

heard the bells on Christmas Day their old, familiar carols play and wild and sweet the words repeat ~ of peace on earth, good-will to men!

The Regimental Centre the Gemunu Watch was organized their Christmas celebration in St Wind Paul Childrens Home which is functioning under the supervision of St Peters and Paul Church with the assistance of sisters of charity at 1500 hrs to 1730 hrs on 23 Dec 2017. The festivity was comprised with making of Christmas tree, singing the Christmas Carols at the venue. On that particular time, the sun shines and everything seems so alive. All that surroundings are brought to life even more by the festivity of Christmas.

Church and orphanage premises were decorated elegantly to celebrate the event with much enthusiasm by the members of GW. All those who participated including family members of officers and other ranks of regimental staff spend the times with approximately 35 childrenâs who are living at the orphanage and had a joyful evening with them. They performed prayers at the hall and wished everyone a happy Christmas. Children waited to receive gifts from Santa Claus and GW member dressed as Santa and distributed gifts and toys to the children with lots of fun activity.

At the end of the event, Regimental Centre had arranged a tea party with delicious short eats and the childrenâs were enjoyed by having those. Deputy Centre Commandant, Commanding Officer RHQBn, the Regimental Adjutant and some Staff Officers were presented at the tea. Rev Farther Suranga Parish Priest of St Peters and Paul Church Rathnapura were there to grace the event. The event was successfully conducted giving the joy to the girls of St Wind Paul orphanage and guardian sisters thanked to GW officers for all the effort to make the event success.
