\"WANA ROPA\" NATIONAL TREE PLANTING CAMPAIGNS FOR A BETTER FUTURE
The Sri Lanka Army Gemunu Watch organized a special tree planting programme in line with the “Wana Ropa” national tree planting programme from 01 October 2017 to 31 October 2017 as aim of Sri Lanka to increase forest cover in the country up to 32 percent within the next three years.\r\n\r\nAs per the instructions of Major General W B D P Fernando RWP RSP USP psc, Deputy Chief of Staff and Colonel of the Regiment, the Gemunu Watch Regimental Centre was organized tree planting programme at Highlanders Eco and Adventure Resort premises - Nanperial in Balangoda on10th October 2017. The Centre Commandant of the Gemunu Watch was attend the occasions. During the programme 100 of trees saplings. In addition to that Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were participated to the occasions.
