A customary felicitation ceremony was held to express congratulations and respect for Major General AS Ariyasinghe RWP RSP USP ndu and Major General WDCK Costa RSP USP who were promoted recently to the rank of Major General. The event unfolded on 07 June 2019 at Regimental Headquarters premises, Panagoda with the participation of large number of officers and other ranks. On behalf of the Colonel Commandant and all officers and men of the Regiment, the Centre Commandant extended the best wishes of the Regiment to the newly promoted Major Generals.

Brigadier G D Fernando (Rtd) VSV , former Gunner Officer of Sri Lanka Army passed away on 4th May 2016 at the age of 85 years.

Last rites of Major General S R Manawaduge RWP RSP ndu psc IG, was held with full military honours at General Cemetery, Borella on 8th May 2016 amidst a large gathering including Lieutenant General A W J C De Silva RWP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army and Air Marshal G P Bulathsinghala RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
Major General Sumith Manawaduge passed away on 6th May 2016 at the Intensive Care Unit, National hospital, Colombo after sustaining injuries due to a fatal accident at a construction site a few days ago.

Major General PWB Jayasundara USP ndc psc IG assumed office as the 18th Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery on 26th May 2016 in a grandiose ceremony held at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.
He revered the fallen heroes of the regiment by laying a floral wreath at the Regimental Monument expressing his utmost concern towards them as the foremost event of the ceremony. Then he reviewed the Guard Turnout presented by the RHQ and accepted the regimental salute accorded by members of the regiment in a parade which included Regimental Colours.

The Administration Inspection of Sri Lanka Artillery was conducted at the Artillery Regimental Centre, Panagoda on 27th May 2016 under the supervision of Major General MP Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, Director Generals and Directors of Army Headquarters.
The Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery Major General PWB Jayasundara USP ndc psc IG welcome the Chief of Staff to the inspection.
