Due to the adverse weather conditions that affected the East area, a contingent of 01 × 20 troops of the 14 SLSR under the 242 Infantry Brigade, as requested by the Irrigation Department, participated in the restoration of the side embankment of the Duuwe lake on 07.01.2026 due to the adverse weather conditions that affected the East area.
These disaster relief programs were carried out under the guidance of senior officer Major General WMNKD Bandara RWP RSP USP ndupsc General Officer Commanding 24 Inf Div, Brigadier KGAT Kelakorale RSP Brigade Commander 242 Infantry Brigade and under the full supervision of Major GHTP Fonseka CO 14 SLSR.
