This letter is submitted to inform regarding a welfare activity conducted by the troops of 23 Infantry Division, under the direction and supervision of the General Officer Commanding, in response to a request made by the Divisional Secretary, Vakarai.
Heavy rain and strong winds affected Punani village recently, resulting in severe damage to the roofs of 04 civilian houses. Repair work was carried out from 29 to 31 October 2025. The task was completed successfully with the support of the Garrison Engineer, Punani and 04 x troops from 7 GW Battalion.
The repairs were completed ahead of the anticipated monsoon rains, ensuring that the affected families were able to remain safely in their homes without further disruption or weather related damage. Photographs of the repair work and the adverse weather conditions are attached for your reference.
