COMMUNITY WELFARE PROGRAM CONDUCTED BY THE 4TH GAMUNU WATCH

Under the guidance of Commander Security Forces (East), Major General P. R. Pathiravithana, USAWC psc, and the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding of the 23 Infantry Division, the 4th Battalion of the Gamunu Watch, deployed under the 232 Infantry Brigade, successfully organized a community welfare program on 17 April 2025 at the Yogasuwami Hindu Girls' Children’s Home in Valachchenai.

With financial support from the Lions Club, the program included the distribution of school items to the children. Following this, lunch was also provided to the children and staff of the home, which falls under the area of responsibility of the battalion.

To ensure the success of this welfare initiative, the General Officer Commanding of the 23 Infantry Division, Brigade Commander of the 232 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officers of the 4th Gamunu Watch and 12th Sri Lanka National Guard, senior officers, officers, other ranks, police officers, and members of the Lions Club participated in the event.
