BODHI PUJA AND SERMON ORGANIZED AT THE SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS - EAST

Bak Poya is a significant day in the Buddhist calendar, marking Lord Buddha's visit to Nagadeepa. This visit, which took place in the month of April, was his second visit to Sri Lanka after attaining enlightenment.

To commemorate Bak Poya, a Bodhi Puja and a sermon were organized at the Security Force Headquarters - East. The event was attended by senior and junior officers, other ranks, and civil servants. For this special occasion, Venerable Delvita Meththalankara Thero was invited to deliver the sermon and lead the Puja.

The ceremony was held with several key intentions paying tribute to war heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice praying for the speedy recovery of those injured in the war Seeking blessings for all personnel serving at the Security Force Headquarters - East and their families

The program was organized under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General Pathiravithana, USAWC, psc. His main intention was to create a space for reflection on Buddhist teachings, promote spiritual well-being, and strengthen faith among all ranks.

Such religious observances serve as a reminder of the importance of peace, compassion, and gratitude, reinforcing moral values among those in service.
