Under the Clean Sri Lanka program implemented by a concept of the HE President, a programme to clean the beaches of Kattankudy, Palamimadu and Punachchimune belonging to 243 Infantry Brigade and 11(v) SLSR unit was carried out on 16 February 2025 from 0800 hours to 1100 hours under the theme of “Clean Beaches - An Attractive Tourist Destination” with the participation of CAO of 243 Infantry Brigade Lieutenant Colonel HPI KUMARA SLNG and Commanding Officer of the 11 Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Major B R M G W A R Balagalla SLSR. 01x15 troops from 243 Infantry Brigade and 03x65 troops from 11(v)SLSR were participated for this programme. Government officials from the Kattankudy Municipal Council, The Department of Environmental Conservation, The Batticaloa Public Health Inspectorate, The Kalladi Police Training College and residents of the area participated in this programme.
