CLEAN SRI LANKA PROJECT: DISTRICT SECRETARY OFFICE AMPARA ORGANIZES GARAGE DUMP CLEANING PROGRAM AT BUDHANGAL

On 15 February 2025, the District Secretary's Office of Ampara, in collaboration with government officials and the Sri Lanka Army, organized a successful garbage dump cleaning program at Budhangala, Ampara. This initiative was a part of the ongoing Clean Sri Lanka Project, which aims to address environmental challenges by promoting cleanliness and waste management across the country.

The program involved 50 troops from the 24 Infantry Division, under the guidance of the division's General Officer Commanding the 24 Infantry Division, Major General H C L Galappathti RSP USP, as well as officers and other ranks from the under-command Bridge and Battalions. Together, they worked to clear large amounts of garbage and waste from the designated areas around Budhangala, a location known for its historical significance and natural beauty. The success of the Budhangala garbage dump cleaning programme stands as a testament to the power of collaboration between government officials, the military, and local communities in achieving these goals.
