MAJ D G I A KUMARA SLA, ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE 5 (V) REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARTILLERY.

Major D G I A Kumara SLA assumed duties as the 16 Commanding Officer of the 5 (V) Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery on 06 November 2024.

The taking-over ceremony began with a formal inspection of a Guard Turnout, followed by paying tribute to the fallen war heroes at the monument. After brief religious observances, the newly appointed Commanding Officer officially commenced duties by signing the formal document, marking the transfer of the leadership for the next tenure. The day’s proceedings also included planting of a tree sapling, a troop address, an all-ranks tea party, group photograph, a visit of the camp premises, and the responsible AOR.
