SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTERS (EAST) MARK ITS 22nd ANNIVERSARY WITH A SERIES OF COMMEMORATIVE EVENTS

The Security Forces Headquarters (East) proudly marked its 22nd Anniversary with a series of ceremonial and commemorative events held at the Headquarters premises on 31 October 2025.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, interfaith religious observances were conducted on 24 and 25 October 2025 at Somawathiya Maha Seya, St. Mary’s Church, Mamanga Hindu Kovil, and Al lakzha Mosque in Batticaloa. These observances were held to invoke blessings upon the Security Forces (East), its officers, other ranks, and their families, seeking continued strength, unity, and success in the fulfillment of their duties.

On the anniversary day, troops of the 2 (V) Gajaba Regiment presented a Ceremonial Guard Turnout and Guard of Honor to Major General JSBW Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc Commander, Security Forces (East) and Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka National Guard upon his arrival. Following the ceremonial honors, the Commander planted a mango sapling within the camp premises, symbolizing growth, unity, and the enduring legacy of the Headquarters.

The day’s proceedings concluded with a group photograph and other traditional events, including a troop’s address delivered by the Commander. In his address, Major General JSBW Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc expressed his sincere appreciation to all officers and other ranks for their unwavering dedication, professionalism, and invaluable contributions towards achieving the mission and objectives of the Security Forces (East).
