SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTERS (EAST) CONDUCTS FIVE-DAY "CLEAN SRI LANKA" WORKSHOP

Under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces (East), Major General P. R. Pathiravithana, USAWC psc, a five-day workshop commenced on 24 March 2025 at the Security Forces Headquarters (East) premises in Welikanda. The workshop aims to train 26 selected officers serving under the Security Forces (East) Area of Responsibility (AOR) as trainers to effectively implement the “Clean Sri Lanka” program.

Delivering the opening address, Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier W. S. V. Fernando, USP, ndc, IG, welcomed all participating officers and emphasized the significance of the "Clean Sri Lanka" program. He highlighted its objective of enhancing governance, social sustainability, environmental sustainability, and economic sustainability to positively transform Sri Lanka’s image. The initiative involves the local community, public and private sector institutions, and the general public and is currently being successfully implemented island-wide.

Additionally, Brigadier General Staff discussed the program's relevance to military personnel and its impact on personal life.

The event was attended by the Brigadier General Staff, the Project Officer of Security Forces Headquarters (East), the Brigadier Coordination (Volunteer) of Security Forces Headquarters (East), senior staff officers, and student officers.
